It all started when Twitter India nudged users with the question ‘Who have you met on Twitter?’ with the hashtag #WeMetOnTwitter. Within minutes, users across the globe, including Mumbai, enthusiastically shared their stories and memories about finding some of their dearest ones in life on Twitter, including romantic partners and spouses.
With access to digital interactive platforms, one can never know when and where they could click with someone on the internet and how Twitter DMs, retweets, likes and comments from a person behind the screen can make them blush. In addition to finding love, Twitter was also instrumental in bringing together people with similar interests, who went on to form stronger and meaningful bonds outside the virtual world. According to Twitter India, the conversation about #WeMetOnTwitter in India grew by 370 percent in 2021 from 2020. In 2022, the usage of the hashtag increased by 28 percent between January and February.
With the Valentine’s Day thrill in the air, Mumbaikars too shared how they developed beautiful, unbreakable bonds through Twitter in the past few years. Here’s what they wrote:

100% agree with @BookLuster. Why should the #WeMetOnTwitter hashtag be limited to romantic relationships and marriages? People I`ve met through Twitter are now my closest friends and take care of me like my own family would when I`m down and low ❤️
